United Travel To Southampton, City Host Burnley

United and City will both be hoping for 3 points to move up the table and get a little closer to the early pacesetters of Liverpool and Tottenham.

United have been an handed injury boost ahead of their fixture against Southampton.

Jesse Lingard has returned to full training for the reds.

The season is still in its relative infancy but injuries have already begun to take their toll on every team, with them all feeling the impact as games are being played in a much shorter time frame than usual.

They currently have up to six players unavailable for this weekend's encounter with high-flying Southampton,

Lingard's return to fitness will be a welcome boost to Solskjaer as he continues to wrestle with an ever growing injury list. Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof are all doubts for Sunday's game while Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly are definitely out.

City will be hoping to carry their winning European form into domestic duties when they host Burnley at the Etihad Stadium.

City's tally of 12 points is actually their worst start to the season since 2008/2009.

They have won all four Champions League group games by a 10-1 aggregate scoreline - including a 1-0 triumph at Olympiacos on Wednesday to seal their place in the Champions League knockout stages. In the Premier League, they have picked up just two wins from their last seven Premier League outings.

The blues almost have a clean bill of health following the returns of Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy. Their summer signing, Nathan Ake is the only doubt due to recovering from a hamstring injury, although he is now back in training.
