Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a shock return to Old Trafford.

The Serie A champions are reportedly looking to reduce their wage bill and Ronaldo is the club's highest-earner bringing home a staggering £28million each year - 5 times more than Paulo Dybala.

United may look to offer the Portuguese, who represented the club for 6 years from 2003, the opportunity to ply his trade at Old Trafford once more.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be a big fan of Ronaldo, and loves the idea of being able to call upon his former team-mate.

Ronaldo won 3 Premier League titles, 1 Champions League and 2 League Cups during his time in Manchester.
